Is the QR code generator really free?
Yes. Static QR codes are free without an account, with no watermark and no expiry. The code contains your data directly, so it works even if this site goes away.
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static code embeds the content itself and cannot be changed. A dynamic code embeds a short link that redirects to your content, so you can edit the destination later and see how many people scanned it.
What file format should I download?
Use SVG for print (it scales to any size without blur). Use PNG for websites, slides, and documents. Pick 1024 px or larger for posters.
Will my QR code expire?
Static codes never expire. Dynamic codes keep working as long as your account exists; if a Pro subscription lapses, existing codes still redirect but you cannot add more than the free allowance.
Do you track people who scan static codes?
No. Static codes are generated in your browser and never touch our servers. Only dynamic codes record anonymous scan statistics.
