How to make a WhatsApp QR code
- Enter your number with its country code, for example
+1 555 123 4567in the US or+44 7700 900123in the UK. Drop the leading 0 you would dial at home. Spaces and dashes are fine. - Add a message (optional). It appears in the customer's chat box, ready to send, which tells you what they are asking about.
- Check the summary under the form, then scan the preview with your phone. It should open a chat with the right number.
- Download SVG for print or PNG for screens.
You do not need to build a link yourself. The generator turns your number into a WhatsApp click-to-chat link (https://wa.me/15551234567) and encodes the message safely, including line breaks, emoji and special characters.
Where businesses use it
- Customer support on receipts, invoices and help pages.
- Sales inquiries on flyers, catalogs and shop windows, with a message like "Hi, I'd like a quote".
- Restaurants, for bookings and takeaway orders.
- Service businesses such as salons, trades and tutors, on vans, cards and door hangers.
- Events, as a quick way for guests to reach the organizer.
- Product packaging, for questions and reorders.
Good to know
- The number must be on WhatsApp. The link works for regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers.
- Your number is visible. Anyone who scans the code can see it, so use a business number if you do not want to share a personal one.
- Everything happens in your browser. Your number and message are not sent to qrfun.app.
- Prefer calls or saving your details? A contact QR code lets people save your name and number instead.
If the number might change
The number is part of the link inside a static code, so a new number means a new code. A dynamic QR code can point at your WhatsApp link today and a new one later, without reprinting, and it counts scans.
